 COMING UP …

  • On Monday September 21 the FCC’s fifth Communications Security, Reliability, and Interoperability Council (CSRIC V) will hold its second meeting under a renewed charter from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the FCC. (CSRIC V webpage) (more)
  • On Tuesday September 22 the FCC’s Media Bureau will hold an information session on the filing of biennial broadcast ownership reports on FCC Form 323, which must be filed by December, 2, 2015, to present an overview of the form, conduct a filing demonstration, and address common filing mistakes, 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the FCC. COMING WEEK …

  • On Wednesday August 26 the NTIA (National Telecommunications and Information Administration) will hold the next meeting of its Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (CSMAC), from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Boeing Regional Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia to hear reports on the progress of subcommittees established to help NTIA develop new or revised strategies to support the growing demand for spectrum.   • On Thursday August 27 the FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau and Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau will host a workshop to promote the wider use and increased accessibility of the Emergency Alert System (EAS), 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Commission Meeting Room at FCC Headquarters.   • On Friday August 28 the FCC’s Downloadable Security Technology Advisory Committee (DSTAC) will hold its seventh meeting, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at FCC headquarters in Washington, DC (MB Docket 15-64) (more). (Fed Reg 7 Aug 15)

LAST WEEK …

FCC Operations

  • The FCC announced that it will perform Information Technology (IT) upgrades and improvements from 6 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, September 2 through the Labor Day weekend, during which most FCC resources normally accessible through its website, including access to some electronic filing systems and electronic dockets, will be inaccessible for the same period, also affecting the functioning of some DCO features, including Track-a-Docket FCC, Late Releases, and Broadcast Application Alerts (BAA). Spectrum and Wireless

  • The FCC announced September 21 and October 6 deadlines for comments on a petition by M2M Spectrum Networks, LLC asking the FCC to initiate a rulemaking proceeding to allow use of 900 MHz Business/Industrial/Land Transportation (B/ILT) channels to provide for-profit service to B/ILT eligibles.
